Plantynet announced on May 16 that its consolidated sales for the first quarter of 2025 reached 13.2 billion KRW, with an operating profit of 3.4 billion KRW. Compared to the same period last year, sales increased by 76%. Operating profit turned positive, marking a significant growth in performance.
The main drivers behind this quarter's improved results include strong sales of the 'Moazine' service and improved earnings from its subsidiary, Albatross Investment. Sales of the 'Moazine Tablet', which features 'Moazine' pre-installed on Samsung Electronics hardware devices, increased, leading to expanded related content sales.
Building on this quarter's performance, Plantynet plans to expand new growth businesses in addition to its core business of harmful content blocking solutions.
Its subsidiary, PlantyM, will begin a full-scale expansion into the B2C market in the second half of the year. Focusing on the digital magazine service 'Moazine', the company intends to accelerate the acquisition of new users by diversifying channels targeting general consumers and strengthening its marketing strategies.
'Moazine' is a comprehensive magazine streaming service that offers over 1,400 magazines and more than 110,000 pieces of content, including internationally renowned magazines such as Cosmopolitan and ELLE. Currently, 'Moazine' is used not only by general users but also by a wide range of institutions, including public libraries, universities, and corporations nationwide.
In February, the company launched the 'Moazine' subscription service through KT. Starting in July this year, it plans to introduce dedicated mobile plans featuring 'Moazine' through major domestic telecommunications companies.
Negotiations for the launch of the new mobile plans are expected to be finalized within this month. In June, the company also plans to begin the final technical integration work for 'Moazine'. The company explained that this partnership is expected to expand distribution channels through telecom operators and increase new subscriber acquisition.
The company is also focusing on enhancing the 'Moazine' service. By leveraging its proprietary generative AI technology, Plantynet aims to dynamically transform static magazine content and establish a new paradigm within the magazine industry.
In addition, Plantynet is driving innovation across various business areas based on its accumulated AI technology capabilities. In particular, the company is integrating next-generation technologies such as deep learning-based harmful image detection AI and LLM/sLLM-based text analysis AI into its services to enhance user experience. Through these efforts, the company is achieving greater sophistication in harmful content analysis functions.
A Plantynet representative stated, "Based on our first quarter results, we plan to strengthen our competitiveness in AI-driven digital content and edutech in the second half of the year," adding, "We aim to become a trusted technology company in both domestic and global markets."
