Jungnang District Mayor Ryu Kyunggi Conducts Joint On-Site Safety Inspection One Day Before Festival Ryu Kyunggi, Jungnang District Mayor, and officials participating in the joint safety inspection at the Rose Festival site

On May 15, one day before the opening of the 17th Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival, Jungnang District (Mayor Ryu Kyunggi), together with related organizations such as the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Jungnang Police Station, Jungnang Fire Station, Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, and Korea Gas Safety Corporation, conducted a joint pre-event on-site inspection across the entire festival area.

The inspection began at the main stage of the festival and covered approximately 1.5 kilometers, including the 1st pedestrian bridge, rose exhibition hall, traditional market booths, 2nd pedestrian bridge, and Surimdae Park. The team thoroughly examined safety factors in various areas, such as electricity, gas, facilities, and health, focusing on preventing potential risks that could arise during the festival period.

The district has designated the period from May 10 to June 1 as the "safety management period," focusing on "ensuring visitor safety." During this period, a total of 2,956 safety management personnel will be intensively deployed on-site. Including personnel from related organizations such as the police and fire departments, approximately 3,400 people will be mobilized, establishing a thorough on-site response system.

Additionally, the district has significantly improved safety infrastructure. A 1.8-kilometer safety fence has been installed along the Jungnangcheon riverside and levee walking trails, and vibration reduction work has been completed on the Ihwa Bridge access pedestrian overpass, further strengthening pedestrian safety.

Furthermore, smart crowd management systems have been installed at key locations such as the main stage and Surimdae Park to enable real-time congestion monitoring.

Ryu Kyunggi, Mayor of Jungnang District, who attended the on-site inspection, stated, "We are thoroughly preparing so that everyone who visits the festival can enjoy it safely and comfortably," and added, "Based on the principle that safety is our top priority, we will continue to meticulously inspect the site and maintain our response system until the very end."
