Yeongdeungpo District Mayor Choi Hokwon (center) attended the unveiling ceremony for the "2025 Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters for Storm and Flood Damage" held at the district's Disaster Response Situation Room on the afternoon of May 15.
On this day, the head of the headquarters (the mayor), the deputy head (the vice mayor), the controller (the director of the Safety and Transportation Bureau), and 13 working groups attended the ceremony. They shared countermeasures and response plans for storm and flood damage and checked the district's preparedness.
The Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters for Storm and Flood Damage will operate a phased emergency work system for five months, from May 15 to October 15. In Phase 1, five working groups will be mobilized; in Phase 2, ten working groups; and in Phase 3, thirteen working groups, with all efforts focused on disaster prevention.
Mayor Choi Hokwon stated, "Thorough preparation in advance is the best defense against disasters," and added, "We will do our utmost to protect residents' safety through swift response in the event of a disaster."
