Yongbum Cho, Meta Southeast Asia Head, Appointed as Head of Asia-Pacific

"I Will Drive Business Growth Using AI"

Meta announced on May 15 that Yongbum Cho, the current head of Southeast Asia, has been appointed as Vice President and Head of Meta Asia-Pacific.


The newly appointed head, Yongbum Cho, is a veteran who has worked at Meta for 14 years and served as the head of Meta Korea from 2014 to 2018. Prior to joining Meta, he worked at McKinsey & Company and IBM Korea. He graduated from Sungkyunkwan University and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Cho will officially begin his new role in July, succeeding the current head, Dan Neary.


Cho stated, "I am truly honored and grateful to be able to help shape the future of the Asia-Pacific region, which is full of potential. I look forward to working with outstanding teams to harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to drive business growth, collaboration, and positive impact across the region."


Meanwhile, with Cho's appointment, Sandhya Devanathan, Vice President of Meta India, will also oversee the Southeast Asia region.
