2025 Implementation Plan for the Daejeon Science and Technology Promotion Comprehensive Plan Finalized

On May 15, the Daejeon Metropolitan Government announced that it held a meeting of the Daejeon Science and Technology Committee in the main conference room of City Hall and finalized the 2025 implementation plan for the Daejeon Science and Technology Promotion Comprehensive Plan (2023-2027).
The implementation plan consists of four major strategies and 16 key projects, with 80 detailed initiatives. The four strategies are: fostering core strategic industries (ABCDQR), creating an ecosystem for science industry development, establishing a global science industry convergence and innovation hub, and nurturing science industry talent and spreading scientific culture. This year, the city plans to invest 250 billion KRW in these initiatives.
The city will invest 40.5 billion KRW in the six core strategic industries known as 'ABCDQR' to provide customized support and strengthen competitiveness through the integration of local industries.
In addition, 50.6 billion KRW will be invested in creating an ecosystem for science industry development, and 39.2 billion KRW will be allocated to establishing a global science industry convergence and innovation hub, with a focus on advancing clusters in connection with the Daedeok Special Zone.
For nurturing science industry talent and spreading scientific culture, 119.7 billion KRW will be invested to establish a governance system for fostering local talent, develop science programs for youth, and expand the scientific culture infrastructure.
An official from the city stated, "We will swiftly implement policies to ensure that science and technology can lead regional development by promoting scientific and technological advancement and strengthening the connection with local industries, centering on the Daedeok Special Zone."
