Silla University Selects Professor Kim Jongchil for Best Servant Teacher Award

Silla University (President Heo Namsik) held the '2025 Silla Best Servant Teacher Award' ceremony.


At 10:00 a.m. on May 15, the '2025 Silla Best Servant Teacher Award (BSTA)' ceremony was held in the President's Reception Room on the 6th floor of the university's main building, with President Heo Namsik, Dean of Academic Affairs Kim Sunghwan, and other key officials in attendance.


Kim Jongchil, a professor in the Department of Aviation Transportation and Logistics at Silla University, was selected as the recipient of this year's Best Servant Teacher Award and received a plaque and a cash prize.

Since 2010, Silla University has presented the 'Silla Best Servant Teacher Award' annually to recognize professors who are dedicated to extracurricular activities, aiming to enhance educational satisfaction. This year marks the selection of the 16th recipient.


Professor Kim Jongchil, the 16th recipient of the Best Servant Teacher Award, was appointed as a professor in the Department of International Trade at Silla University in 1997. In addition to teaching major courses, he has offered special lectures for certifications such as Logistics Manager and International Trade Specialist, actively supporting students in obtaining certifications and strengthening their employability through extracurricular activities.


He has also contributed significantly to the university's development by serving in various positions, including advisor to the university newspaper, dean of the College of Business and Economics, and director of planning. He successfully managed various government-funded projects and received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy.


Kim Sunghwan, Dean of Academic Affairs at Silla University, stated, "Professor Kim Jongchil's outstanding abilities and dedicated teaching have been especially helpful for students in the Department of Aviation Transportation and Logistics in developing their careers and competencies, and have greatly contributed to the advancement of the department." He added, "We will continue to actively support the discovery of excellent faculty members and the dissemination of exemplary cases to promote educational practices for student growth."
