Chungnam Province announced on May 15 that it held the '2025 Chungnam Youth Job Planning Day' at Soonchunhyang University in Asan to support young people in exploring career paths and making a successful transition into society.
The event was attended by Governor Kim Taeheum, around 1,500 young people, representatives from overseas companies, domestic large and medium-sized companies, public institutions, and more than 50 companies and organizations in total.
The program included a special lecture by a distinguished guest, career counseling sessions with the governor, group mentoring by current professionals, and job information sessions.
At the event, current employees from public institutions, professional fields, and medium-sized companies, as well as young entrepreneurs, provided tailored career counseling and advice.
In particular, major domestic and international companies participated in large numbers, with current employees introducing their job roles directly and providing participants with practical information about company culture, recruitment processes, and competency requirements.
Leading companies and institutions favored by young people, including Hyundai Motor Company, Hyundai Mobis, Samsung SDI, LG Household & Health Care, Hanwha Q CELLS, Nike, Kakao, Ottogi, Korea Electric Power Corporation, National Pension Service, and NH Nonghyup Bank, participated in the event. Professionals such as certified public accountants, customs brokers, lawyers, judicial scriveners, labor attorneys, and public officials also joined to listen to young people's concerns about their career paths and offer guidance.
Lee Junhee, a lecturer from the YouTube channel 'Myeonjeobwang Lee Hyung,' emphasized, "What matters more than your credentials is confidence and a sense of direction."
The province also set up an employment service zone, offering services such as resume photo shoots, personal statement consulting, artificial intelligence (AI) aptitude tests, personal color analysis, and interview consulting.
During the career counseling session with the governor, Governor Kim and the young participants engaged in a Q&A, sharing and encouraging each other about concerns related to artificial intelligence (AI), work attitudes, mindset, and career planning.
Governor Kim said, "There will be times when your mind is crowded with worries about the future and you wonder, 'What should I do?' Everyone may vaguely feel unsure about what they like and what they are good at, but although it is difficult to find, everyone has a clear path of their own. If you keep asking yourself what you find meaningful and hold on to that question as you move forward, even if you progress more slowly than others, you will become a much deeper person."
