A cumulative donation of 2.06 billion KRW, supporting 2,000 recipients
Three years of close support... Introduction of the "With SHINSEGAE" program
On the 15th, Shinsegae Centum City held the "17th Local Talent Hope Scholarship Award Ceremony" and delivered scholarships totaling 130 million KRW to 126 local youths through the ChildFund Korea.

The event was attended by Kim Seongsu, Mayor of Haeundae-gu, Kwon Sookhyang, Director of Planning at the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education, Lee Sookyung, Head of the Busan Regional Headquarters of ChildFund Korea, and Park Soonmin, Store Manager of Shinsegae Centum City, representing the scholarship recommendation institutions.
Since the opening of the department store in 2009, Shinsegae Centum City has been awarding the Hope Scholarship annually to promote mutual growth with the local community and support future leaders of the region. As of this year, the cumulative donation over 17 years has reached 2.06 billion KRW, benefiting a total of 2,056 recipients.
The scholarships are provided in the amount of 1 million KRW each to 124 recipients, including youths recommended by each institution, as well as children of store contractors and SME partners.
Notably, under the newly introduced "With SHINSEGAE Hope Scholarship" in 2025, two local high school students were each awarded a scholarship of 3 million KRW.
The With SHINSEGAE program is a long-term project that goes beyond one-time support. It selects first-year high school students with outstanding academic potential and provides 3 million KRW per year for three years, totaling 9 million KRW, based on their academic performance. In addition to tuition support, the program is designed to offer regular counseling and academic performance monitoring to ensure more effective support for the scholarship recipients.
Park Soonmin, Store Manager of Shinsegae Centum City, stated, "We are continuously providing scholarships to nurture leaders who will shape the future of our region," adding, "We will continue to fulfill our corporate social responsibility and pursue mutual growth with the local community through even more active social contribution activities."
