Kim Jonghyuk, former Supreme Council member of the People Power Party, claimed that former President Yoon Sukyeol called candidate Kim Moonsoo and reproached him, saying, "Why are you apologizing for the martial law?" In response, the People Power Party denied the claim, stating it was not true.
On the 14th, during an appearance on CBS Radio's "Park Jaehong's One-Pan Match," Kim Jonghyuk said, "Although it has not been confirmed, neither side has officially denied it, so it seems that former President Yoon did make the call," making this statement.
Kim Jonghyuk added, "With people like lawyer Seok Donghyun, who is close to former President Yoon, in place, and with the former president still expressing such anger toward our party's candidate, I wonder what activities Han Donghoon, the former party leader, can actually undertake there. Han Donghoon continues to actively attack posts made by Lee Jaemyung, the party leader, on social media (SNS)."
He went on to comment on the appointment of lawyer Seok Donghyun, who served on former President Yoon's impeachment defense team, as chairman of the Special Committee on Civil Society of the party's central election committee, saying, "It made me think, 'How does this help with votes?' The presidential election is not being held for former President Yoon, but because of him, and I think this is a significant mistake."
Indeed, in candidate Kim Moonsoo's campaign, lawyer Seok Donghyun?known as a friend of former President Yoon?has been appointed as chairman of the Special Committee on Civil Society. In addition, pro-Yoon former lawmaker Lee Yong is serving as deputy head of the operations team, and lawmaker Cho Jiyeon, who worked in the presidential office, has also taken a position.
Finally, Kim Jonghyuk pointed out, "Han Donghoon continues to attack posts made by Lee Jaemyung, such as those about the Supreme Court Chief Justice confirmation hearing or the passage of bills, through Facebook. Isn't this something the candidate's campaign should be doing?" He criticized the current state of Kim Moonsoo's campaign as abnormal.
Regarding Kim Jonghyuk's claim about former President Yoon's anger, the People Power Party's Media and Legal Team issued a notice on the 15th, stating, "We express our regret toward both those who spread false information propagated by a YouTuber through broadcasts and those media outlets that reported it without verifying the facts."
