The Graduate School of Social Welfare at Chung-Ang University has announced the recruitment of new students for the 2025 Fall Semester (evening program) master's program (five semesters/2 years and 6 months) in the Departments of Social Welfare, Child Welfare, and Youth Studies.
Anyone who has obtained (or is expected to obtain) a bachelor's degree, or is recognized as having equivalent or higher academic qualifications under the law, is eligible to apply regardless of their undergraduate major.
The application period runs until midnight on Wednesday, May 21, and applications can be submitted 24 hours a day via Uwayapply during this period. All required documents, including the application form, must be submitted in person or by mail by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23. After document screening and interviews, the list of successful applicants will be announced on the Graduate School of Social Welfare website on Thursday, June 5.
For over 50 years, the Graduate School of Social Welfare at Chung-Ang University has been dedicated to training professional social welfare personnel equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values required in a global era. The school is characterized by its focus on teaching a variety of social science theories based on critical thinking and scientific research methods to nurture competent social welfare professionals who will lead the realization of a welfare state.
The Department of Social Welfare aims to train specialists who will lead the field and research in social welfare. The curriculum covers the development of Korean social welfare policies and practices, social welfare ideology and values, as well as theoretical and practical knowledge. Upon completion of the required courses, students are eligible to obtain a Level 2 Social Worker certificate and, upon graduation, qualify to take the Level 1 certification exam.
The Department of Child Welfare aims for holistic child care and is centered on establishing child welfare theories and developing practical methods. The program fosters research and practical abilities to develop child welfare models suitable for the conditions of Korean society.
The Department of Youth Studies aims to nurture youth leaders with professional knowledge and competence so that young people in modern society can develop mature personalities and realize their potential to grow into responsible citizens.
There are also abundant scholarship benefits for both new and current students. In particular, new students currently employed in the related field can receive a tuition reduction of up to 1 million KRW. After obtaining a master's degree, students are also eligible to apply for the doctoral program at the general graduate school.
