Operation of Gokseong Regional Love Train Tour Product
Additional Mugunghwa Trains and Temporary Parking Lot Provided
The Jeonnam Headquarters of Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on May 15 that it will operate the "Gokseong Regional Love Train Tour" in celebration of the 15th Gokseong World Rose Festival, which will be held for ten days from May 16 to 25 in the area of Gokseong Seomjingang Train Village.
The Gokseong Regional Love product is a collaborative initiative aimed at revitalizing tourism in areas experiencing population decline. It is a free travel package that allows visitors to use the railway to select and visit tourist destinations in Gokseong at their own discretion.
During the festival period, additional Mugunghwa trains will be operated for visitors to Gokseong Station. Extra safety personnel will be deployed to prevent accidents at the station’s level crossings and to reduce congestion. For the convenience of passengers, temporary restrooms, rest areas, and additional benches will be installed, and a temporary parking lot near Gokseong Station will be provided for those arriving by car.
The Gokseong Regional Love Train Tour product can be found on the KORAIL website, the mobile app "KORAIL Talk," or by contacting the railway customer center.
Kim Jintae, head of KORAIL Jeonnam Headquarters, said, "We invite you to visit Gokseong, where you can enjoy rare and beautiful world-class roses that are hard to find elsewhere in Korea, all in one place, by taking the convenient and safe train."
