First launched in 2015 and now in its seventh edition this year, except during the COVID-19 period, this event was organized to promote the importance of walking as a method of spinal care. This year, a total of 280 people participated, including patients who regained their health after receiving treatment for spinal and joint disorders at 11 Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospitals in the Seoul and Gyeonggi area?specifically Gangnam, Nowon, Mokdong, Boramae, Bucheon, Bundang, Suwon, Ansan, Incheon, Ilsan, and Jamsil?as well as hospital staff.
The event began with an opening speech by Park Byungmo, Chairman of Jaseng Medical Foundation, followed by warm-up exercises. Afterwards, participants walked a 2.4-kilometer course within Children's Grand Park and shared stories with medical staff about changes in their daily lives before and after treatment. The medical staff offered words of encouragement to participants who had suffered from musculoskeletal disorders and wished them continued health. After the walking event, a singing contest and prize drawing were held for participants, hosted by broadcaster Cho Younggu.
One patient who participated in the walking event said, "I suffered from a herniated disc for a long time, but since receiving integrative Korean medicine treatment at Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital in 2017, my condition has greatly improved. I am happy to take part in such a meaningful event with fellow patients who, like me, have recovered from musculoskeletal disorders through non-surgical treatment."
Chairman Park said, "It is meaningful to be able to walk together in this event with participants who have overcome pain and regained their smiles. Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital will continue to do its utmost to stand by the participants so they can walk toward a healthier tomorrow."
