Up to 50,000 KRW per Exam, Maximum of Two Exams per Person Annually
Payment via Nonsan Love Local Currency (Mobile)
Nonsan City in South Chungcheong Province announced on May 15 that it will implement the "2025 Nonsan City Employment Certification Acquisition Support Project" to reduce the financial burden on job seekers and enhance their employability.
This project aims to support citizens preparing for employment by subsidizing the fees for certification and language exams. The support is retroactively applied to exams taken since January of this year.
Eligible applicants are unemployed job seekers who, as of the application date, are registered residents of Nonsan City and are between the ages of 19 and 64. Applicants must also be unemployed on the date of the exam.
Notably, starting this year, foreign nationals who are married to Nonsan citizens but have not yet been naturalized are also eligible for support, provided their residency can be verified through the resident registration certificate.
The supported exams include 554 types of national technical certifications, 248 types of national professional certifications, 95 types of nationally accredited private certifications, 19 types of language exams, and the Korean History Proficiency Test.
For each exam, up to 50,000 KRW per attempt is provided, with a maximum of two attempts per person per year. The subsidy is paid via Nonsan Love local currency (mobile).
Applicants who wish to receive support should visit the Nonsan City Job Support Center to apply.
A city official stated, "We hope that this certification acquisition support project will serve as a practical stepping stone for job seekers in Nonsan City," adding, "We will continue to provide various forms of support to strengthen citizens' employability in the future."
