Shedding Light on Urban Changes After Liberation Through a Talk Concert

Exploring Post-Liberation Urban History at the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History

The National Museum of Korean Contemporary History announced on May 15 that it will hold the "Modern City Chronicles" talk concert in the multipurpose hall on the third floor on the last Friday of every month until July. Marking the 80th anniversary of Liberation, the event will look back on the changes and history of cities after Liberation. Applications can be submitted on the museum's website starting from May 19.

The first event, which will be held on May 30, will feature discussions about the arrival of U.S. military personnel and returning Koreans entering Korea through Busan Port immediately after Liberation, as well as Japanese nationals departing for Japan. In June and July, the topics will focus on Daejeon and Daegu, and Pyongyang and Kaesong, respectively.

Han Soo, Director of the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History, said, "I hope this will be an opportunity to vividly experience the history of cities that went through turbulent times after Liberation and to gain a deeper understanding of our history."
