Gyeryong City Revamps City Bus Routes... New Express Route Added for Daesil District

On May 15, the city of Gyeryong in South Chungcheong Province announced that it has completed a city bus route reorganization in cooperation with the Daejeon City Bus Transportation Association to improve public transportation convenience for its citizens.

This route reorganization reflected the opinions of residents in the Daesil District.

The city has introduced a new express route connecting the Daesil District to Daejeon. To address the inconvenience Daesil District residents experienced with existing routes when traveling to central Daejeon, two new direct routes, numbers 47 and 47-2, have been established.

Route 47 is an express bus starting from Nongsori, passing through the Daesil District, and continuing to Konyang University Hospital and Daejeon Southwest Terminal. Route 47-2 starts at Hallavaldi Apartment, passes through the Daesil District and Wangdae-ri, and heads to Konyang University Hospital.

In contrast, the existing route 43 has been discontinued, and routes 202 and 2002 have been adjusted so that they no longer pass through the Daesil District.

The city has also strengthened its internal circulation routes. The number 100 circulation bus will increase from two to three vehicles and will operate from Puman Village Apartments, passing through Gyeryong City Hall and the Daesil District, to Ipam-ri Riverside Park.

Additionally, a new route 200 has been introduced to circulate through the Eomsa area, starting at Musangsa, passing through Paradia Apartment, Eomsa Intersection, Dogok-ri, and returning to Musangsa.

Major existing routes such as 45, 48, 300, and 3002 will remain unchanged.

To widely inform citizens about these changes, the city plans to conduct extensive publicity through the city hall website, social media, city newsletters, leaflets, banners, and meetings with local leaders.

In addition, the city plans to improve public transportation infrastructure by upgrading bus stops, updating route maps, establishing information systems, and expanding electric vehicle charging stations.

Mayor Lee Eungwoo stated, "We will strive to establish a more convenient and efficient public transportation system so that citizens can use public transit without inconvenience," adding, "We will continue to work toward creating a citizen-centered transportation environment in the future."
