Damyang County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Jeong Cheolwon) announced on the 14th that it held a detailed implementation plan briefing session for fulfilling its first pledges to residents at the Songgangjeong Hall of the county office on the 13th, focusing on thoroughly reviewing the pledge execution plans by each department.

This briefing session marked the first step toward realizing the 8th elected administration's goal of "Building Damyang, a Vibrant City Full of Opportunities," and was organized to enhance the feasibility and effectiveness of the pledges.

In particular, the session departed from a formal presentation format and instead adopted an in-depth reporting style, where the governor personally reviewed each department's pledge implementation plan one-on-one. This approach aimed to increase departmental accountability and preemptively assess the feasibility of each pledge.

During the session, each department entered in sequence to briefly report on the detailed implementation plans for their respective pledges, with a particular focus on closely examining major pledges related to areas that directly impact residents' daily lives.

In the tourism and regional revitalization sector, discussions included promoting resident-led festivals to encourage longer stays by visitors. For youth and newlywed support policies, topics included providing injury insurance for young people serving in the military and plans for operating a public wedding hall.

In the welfare sector, discussions focused on expanding support for movie viewing to increase cultural opportunities for seniors, as well as expanding all-day childcare services to create a more child-friendly environment. Plans to expand native English-speaking classes for education and global talent development were also reviewed.

In the agricultural sector, key topics included establishing a smart farm-based sterile strawberry seedling supply system, expanding agricultural and fisheries subsidies, and setting up a "Damyang-style Food Support Center" to integrate the management of local food resources.

The county plans to use this briefing session as an opportunity for each department to further specify their detailed implementation plans and to establish a system for transparently sharing and continuously monitoring the progress of pledge implementation with residents.

Governor Jeong Cheolwon emphasized, "Our pledges are promises to the residents and represent a responsible starting point for the 8th Damyang County administration. Through this briefing session, each department will establish feasible action plans and steadily implement them so that residents can experience tangible changes in their daily lives."
