Support for Cultural Events for Seniors,
Promoting Regional Coexistence
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sangkeun) participated in the local festival '2025 Nolidongsam' held on May 14 in the Jugong Apartment area of Dongsam-dong, Yeongdo-gu, in celebration of Family Month and Parents' Day. The BPA carried out volunteer activities to support cultural events for middle-aged and senior citizens by assisting with manpower needs.
This activity was part of a festival hosted by the Dongsam General Social Welfare Center, which operates the first branch of BPA's social contribution brand 'BPA Hope Storehouse.' It was conducted as a social contribution initiative to strengthen cooperation between welfare institutions and promote sustainable regional coexistence.
'Nolidongsam' is a village festival aimed at promoting communication among residents and revitalizing the community. The event featured a variety of experiential booths and programs, such as nail art for seniors, making scrubbing pads, and mother-of-pearl pottery experiences, along with performances and food events. On the day of the event, BPA executives and staff assisted with booth operations, guidance, and support for experiential activities, contributing to the smooth running of the festival.
Song Sangkeun stated, "It is very meaningful to bring smiles to seniors together with local residents, university students, and welfare institution workers," and added, "BPA will continue to brighten every corner of the local community."
Since its establishment in 2014, BPA has continuously carried out various in-house social contribution programs, including briquette and kimchi-making volunteer activities, plogging, 'BPA Hope Storehouse,' and the 'Visiting Port Welfare Project,' to address welfare blind spots and promote community-based sharing activities. BPA plans to continue fulfilling its responsibilities as a public institution and to practice ESG management in the future.
