Publication of "Public Safety Newsletter" to Prevent Agricultural Machinery Traffic Accidents
On May 14, the Muan Police Station (Chief: Jung Sungil) produced its own public safety newsletter, the "Muan Traffic Safety Report," to prevent agricultural machinery traffic accidents involving elderly people. The police promoted agricultural machinery traffic safety to 1,300 life support workers who manage elderly people and tractor drivers in the area.
This public safety newsletter was created in response to the continued occurrence of fatal traffic accidents involving tractors. It explained chronic issues?such as the complex operation systems of tractors, the lack of safety devices, and poor nighttime visibility?using real-life examples. The newsletter also presented practical solutions, including the agricultural machinery rental program and comprehensive agricultural machinery insurance, which allow for the replacement of tractors with safer agricultural equipment.

On this day, Muan Police not only distributed the newsletter directly to elderly tractor drivers, but also shared it with 80 life support workers who manage approximately 1,300 elderly people in the area, thereby maximizing the promotional effect.
In addition, the police visited the Muan-gun Agricultural Technology Center in person to request active promotion of the ongoing agricultural machinery rental program and comprehensive agricultural machinery insurance system. They also placed the self-produced public safety newsletter at the center to strengthen cooperation so that more farmers can access this information.
Jung Sungil, Chief of Muan Police Station, stated, "It is important to provide practical information so that elderly drivers themselves can recognize and prevent the dangers of tractor accidents," and added, "We will continue to carry out customized traffic safety activities tailored to the local situation."
