World Vision, an international relief and development NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) led by President Cho Myunghwan, announced on May 14 that it held a ceremony at Yeongyang County Office in North Gyeongsang Province to deliver emergency relief supplies and funds worth approximately 450 million KRW for large-scale wildfire victims in the region.

Following consultations with Yeongyang County after the large wildfire, World Vision provided 172.5 million KRW in support to 115 households affected, including children and displaced residents, to cover living expenses and the purchase of home appliances and furniture. On April 16, through the Gyeongsangbuk-do Office of Education, the organization also provided 11 million KRW to five households with children and adolescents in Yeongyang whose homes were completely destroyed.

From March 27 to the present, World Vision has supplied a total of approximately 8,250 relief items to the Yeongyang area, including 500 emergency relief kits, 1,000 sets of clothing, 500 smoke masks, 1,080 emergency blankets donated by Youngone Trading, 250 bags, and about 5,000 daily necessities. The total value of these goods amounts to 266.5 million KRW.

After the provision of emergency relief funds, World Vision plans to offer psychological and emotional support kits and its psychological therapy support program to help children’s families in Yeongyang achieve full recovery.

O Dochang, Governor of Yeongyang County, stated, "Currently, about 124 households have been reported as completely or partially destroyed, and ongoing support in various areas is urgently needed. I am truly grateful to World Vision for responding swiftly in this time of crisis and to everyone who joined in supporting us."

Jeon Gwangseok, Head of World Vision Daegu Gyeongbuk Business Headquarters, said, "Thanks to the collective support of many donors, we have been able to steadily provide the necessary aid on the ground. I would like to thank everyone who participated, and World Vision will do its utmost to help children and displaced residents affected by the wildfire return to their daily lives as quickly as possible."
