National Pukyong University and Busan Premium Seafood Association Join Hands for Fisheries Sector Development

Agreement Ceremony Held on the 14th

National Pukyong University (President Sanghoon Bae) and the Busan Premium Seafood Association (Chairman Yongjun Park) signed a mutual cooperation agreement on the morning of May 14 in the reception room on the 3rd floor of the university headquarters at National Pukyong University.

President Sanghoon Bae and Chairman Yongjun Park signed the agreement on this day and agreed to establish a cooperative system for the development of the fisheries sector, balanced regional development, and the cultivation of outstanding future talent.

The Busan Premium Seafood Association is an organization established in 2005 to promote the excellence of seafood produced and processed in the region. Sixteen leading regional seafood and food companies participate in the association, and Yongjun Park, CEO of Samjin Foods, has served as chairman since 2022.

National Pukyong University, with its College of Fisheries Science and Fisheries Science Research Institute, is leading the development of the fisheries sector by connecting with advanced fields based on its unique educational and research infrastructure. The university expects this agreement to become a leading example of cooperation among local government, industry, academia, and research institutes in Busan's fisheries sector.

The two organizations plan to cooperate in several areas: mutual exchange and cooperation of human and material resources; establishment of corporate research institutes (including branches) for the creation of an innovative campus for local government, industry, academia, and research collaboration; educational and research support and joint curriculum development for the cultivation of future talent and professionals; and exchange of industry-academia information and hosting of academic conferences to expand the base of the regional industry.
