The Seoul Next Local project is an initiative that supports young people in Seoul to start businesses either in partnership with or within regions outside the Seoul metropolitan area, utilizing tangible and intangible resources from areas experiencing population decline.

Under the agreement, Lotte Card will participate as a partner organization in the Next Local project along with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and Shinsegae. The signing ceremony held the previous day was attended by Sehun Oh, Mayor of Seoul; Miryung Song, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs; Jwajin Cho, CEO of Lotte Card; and Sunjin Kim, Vice President of Shinsegae.

Lotte Card will provide various forms of support, leveraging its digital capabilities to help participating companies in the Next Local project increase their sales and brand awareness.

Eligible companies can be listed on 'Ttingshop,' a shopping mall exclusively for Lotte Card members within the DigiLoka app. Lotte Card will fully cover the costs of sales promotion events and special exhibitions.

The company will also support these businesses by promoting them through digital channels such as the DigiLoka app and social networking services (SNS), as well as by organizing offline pop-up events, helping companies connect with customers both online and offline to raise awareness of their products and brands.

Meanwhile, in April last year, Lotte Card also signed a business agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to promote youth startups linked to local regions and to foster an environment for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) collaboration. As part of the ESG campaign 'Thinkus,' Lotte Card has been supporting companies participating in the Next Local project.

At the latest signing ceremony, companies supported by Lotte Card through the Next Local project, such as Seolare (Yeongju, Gyeongbuk) and Wiroyakbang (Yeongwol, Gangwon), presented the results they achieved after joining Ttingshop on the DigiLoka app.

A Lotte Card representative stated, "We have been supporting companies participating in Seoul's Next Local project by providing promotional assistance and expert consulting through the DigiLoka app," adding, "We will continue to help local youth businesses grow in partnership with the Seoul Metropolitan Government by utilizing our digital capabilities and data analysis expertise."
