According to the legal community on May 14, Moon has reportedly been informed by Seoul National University of Science and Technology about an open recruitment for faculty positions and is currently considering whether to participate in the process.

Moon stated, "The recruitment process has not started yet," and added, "I have no intention of moving to another university."

Seoul National University of Science and Technology has announced that there are internal discussions regarding appointing Moon as an adjunct professor at the law school. If the appointment is finalized, he is expected to teach constitutional law courses starting from the next semester, which is the second semester of the academic year.

Seoul National University of Science and Technology Law School is the only public law school in South Korea, with an annual enrollment of 50 students per class. Currently, Professor Kim Heekyun serves as the dean. The faculty includes experts from various fields, such as Professor Lee Sangkyung (Constitutional Law), who has served as President of the Korean Constitutional Law Association and Chairman of the Law School Association, Professor Jung Byungho (Civil Law), who is President of the Korean Civil Law Association, and Professor Cha Seongan (Criminal Law), a former judge.

Moon, who presided over the impeachment trial of former President Yoon Sukyeol and delivered the verdict of removal from office, completed his six-year term and retired on April 18.

Previously, Seoul National University of Science and Technology appointed Park Han-chul, former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court who participated in the impeachment trial of former President Park Geunhye, as an adjunct professor in 2019.
