According to CNBC in the United States, MS will implement this level of job cuts across all positions, teams, and regions.

In a statement sent to the media outlet, MS said, "We are continuously making organizational changes necessary to position the company for success in a dynamic market."

Currently, MS employs 228,000 people worldwide. With this layoff decision, approximately 7,000 employees are expected to leave the company. This is projected to be the largest round of layoffs since the company cut 10,000 jobs in 2023.

MS explained that one of the goals of this round of layoffs is to reduce the number of managers, and that it is unrelated to the performance-based layoffs announced in January of this year.

On the same day, MS shares closed at $449.14 on the New York Stock Exchange, down 0.03%.
