The "Museum and Art Gallery of the Year Award" is the highest honor in the field, presented to institutions that have contributed to the advancement of museums and art galleries in Korea, as well as the enhancement of public cultural services. The award consists of three categories: special exhibitions, education, and publications.

Among these, the education category is awarded based on a comprehensive evaluation of the originality of educational programs, the degree of academic research achievements, the contribution to revitalizing local culture and the extent to which regional interconnectivity is reflected, the value of education in line with the museum or art gallery's character, and the distinctiveness of the programs compared to other educational offerings.

The Gyeonggi Ceramic Museum was recognized for its outstanding educational achievements, including the successful operation of "Kids Biennale," a program designed in connection with the international ceramic art event "2024 Gyeonggi Ceramic Biennale." The program enabled various generations, especially families with young children, to enjoy ceramic culture together and attracted a total of 29,341 participants.

Experience-oriented ceramic culture education programs such as "Montagne Child Artists" and "Imagination Clay Warehouse," which organically combine play and art, have presented a new direction for creative arts education, expanded the museum's educational role, contributed to fostering children's creativity, and laid the foundation for discovering future talents in culture and the arts.

Through community-linked programs such as "Craft Pocha," an education and experience street featuring direct participation by craft artists, and the regionally based cultural arts flea market "Gonjiam Ceramic Park Munhori River Market," the museum also achieved meaningful results in job creation and the revitalization of cultural content.

In particular, collaborative programs with the Gyeonggi Children's Museum under the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation, such as "Colorful Dancing Autumn Story" and "Hello, Ceramic Mon!" were highly praised as exemplary models of inter-museum cooperation, enhancing communication among families and expanding opportunities for cultural enjoyment.

Choi Moonhwan, CEO of the Korea Ceramic Foundation, said, "This award is a meaningful recognition of both the educational value of ceramic culture and our foundation's creative efforts. We will continue to communicate with the local community and develop diverse cultural and arts education programs that can be enjoyed by all generations."
