Gwangju Bank has ranked first in the regional bank category of the Korea Industry Brand Power Index for eight consecutive years.

On the 13th, Gwangju Bank announced that it held the certification ceremony for ranking first in the regional bank category of the '2025 Korea Industry Brand Power Index (K-BPI)'.

The event, held at Gwangju Bank’s headquarters on this day, was attended by Ko Byungil, President of Gwangju Bank, Han Sangrok, Executive Director of Korea Management Association Consulting (KMAC), as well as other officials and employees.

K-BPI is a leading brand evaluation index in Korea, which comprehensively assesses brand awareness and loyalty through one-on-one interviews with 12,800 consumers residing in Seoul and major metropolitan cities. In this survey, Gwangju Bank received high scores in all loyalty categories, including reliability, price premium, value for effort, willingness to recommend to others, and clarity of message. As a result, the bank has achieved the remarkable feat of maintaining the number one position in the regional bank category for eight consecutive years since 2018.

This achievement is largely attributed to Gwangju Bank’s efforts to provide a wide range of services tailored to the needs of the local community and the evolving financial environment.

Gwangju Bank continues to pursue various initiatives for digital innovation and inclusive finance while maintaining its regional foundation. A notable example is the 'Together Loan', which was jointly launched last year with Toss Bank for the first time in the financial sector. By combining Gwangju Bank’s expertise in personal loan processing with Toss Bank’s nationwide business platform, the product offers accurate credit evaluations and reasonable interest rates, which led to a swift and positive market response from the outset.

Additionally, at the beginning of this year, Gwangju Bank established the first Foreign Financial Center in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions to actively provide financial services for foreign workers and immigrants. The bank has implemented an interpretation and translation system covering 38 languages and staffed its branches with foreign employees from four countries to deliver customized financial services through enhanced communication and understanding.

Furthermore, as a good example of local-based marketing, the bank recently launched the 'Kia Champions Card', which has received an enthusiastic response not only in Gwangju but also nationwide, further enhancing its brand value.

Ko Byungil, President of Gwangju Bank, stated, "Our achievement of ranking first for eight consecutive years is the result of empathizing with local community issues as the region’s leading bank and providing timely and prompt financial support whenever local residents needed it. We will continue to strive for mutual growth with the region and to become a sustainable and competitive brand."
