Boseong Yulposolbat Beach Removes Long-Abandoned Tents

Implementation of Measures to Prohibit Unauthorized Camping Activities

Boseong County, South Jeolla Province, announced on May 13 that it has implemented strong guidance and removal measures since last month against unauthorized camping and tents left unattended for extended periods at Yulposolbat Beach, creating a clean and safe beach environment.

Yulposolbat Beach is a nationally renowned tourist destination and a popular summer spot for families. Recently, indiscriminate camping and cooking activities have led to increased environmental pollution and heightened risks of safety accidents.

In accordance with the amended Enforcement Decree of the Beach Act, the county has been actively managing the beach by removing cooking and camping equipment left unattended for long periods. After providing on-site guidance and notices for voluntary removal of illegal tents, the county completed the removal of facilities that had been abandoned for an extended time. Through these actions, the beach has regained its original function as a public space and restored a pleasant and orderly environment for visitors.

A county official stated, "Yulposolbat Beach has now returned to being a space that everyone can enjoy together," adding, "We will continue to maintain a pleasant beach environment through ongoing guidance and management."

Meanwhile, for visitors wishing to camp, Yulpo Auto Camping Site, located near Yulposolbat Beach, is open year-round and is fully equipped with amenities such as electricity, shower rooms, and dishwashing facilities.
