On May 13, Chungnam Province, in cooperation with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, jointly operated a "visiting cadastral resurvey consultation office" at the Ganggyeong Daeheung 1 District in Nonsan City.
This on-site consultation office was organized through the collaboration of four organizations: the provincial government, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Nonsan City, and Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation (LX). The purpose was to directly listen to residents' concerns that may arise during the cadastral resurvey project and to provide prompt solutions on-site.
On this day, consultations were provided to 195 landowners of 517 parcels in the Ganggyeong Daeheung 1 District of Nonsan City. The consultations covered a variety of topics, including methods for negotiating and adjusting survey and boundary (area), how to set boundaries in the event of disputes between neighbors, and ways to respond if conflicts arise during boundary adjustments.
A separate exhibition area was also set up to display historical cadastral materials, allowing residents to view cadastral records such as land registers (books, cards, computerized), paper cadastral maps, as well as seven types of surveying equipment including area measuring devices, electronic tablets, and drones. This helped to enhance residents' understanding of the cadastral system.
Lim Taekbin, head of the Provincial Land Management Division, stated, "This joint on-site consultation office is a good example of customized cadastral administrative services tailored to the needs of residents," and added, "We will continue to strengthen communication with residents and maintain field-oriented administration to minimize conflicts and complaints that arise during the cadastral resurvey process."
Meanwhile, last year the province also operated on-site consultation offices a total of 58 times across 48 districts in 16 cities and counties, providing consultations for 2,669 complaints on-site. As a result, the number of complaints related to the cadastral resurvey decreased by 12% (1,531 cases) compared to the previous year.
