"People Power Party Is a Disorderly Group...
Will Become a 'TK United Liberal Democrats' After the Presidential Election"
Kim Hyuncheol, the second son of former President Kim Youngsam (YS) and chairman of the Kim Youngsam Presidential Memorial Foundation, declared his support for Lee Junseok, the presidential candidate of the Reform Party, on May 13.
On this day, Kim posted on Facebook, "Just as YS once advocated for the '40s leadership theory,' we must now boldly push out the old, incompetent, and corrupt establishment politicians and create a new generation of young, fresh, and capable political leaders," expressing his support for candidate Lee.
He emphasized, "Now, not only a change of era but also a generational change must be achieved."
Regarding the People Power Party, he pointed out, "In any case, the People Power Party, which has already become a disorderly group, will be reduced to a 'TK (Daegu-Gyeongbuk) United Liberal Democrats' after the presidential election."

Kim continued, "We must build a nationwide party centered on figures who are differentiated from the People Power Party," and added, "I also intend to actively support the emergence of a new reform party, even if my contribution is modest."
In response to Kim's declaration of support, candidate Lee posted on Facebook, "I deeply appreciate Chairman Kim's declaration of support. As the recognized successor to the '40s leadership theory,' I will not forget its meaning, and I, too, will unwaveringly walk the path of political reform."
