Chosun University announced on the 13th that its Educational Broadcasting Station (CUEB) held a commemorative ceremony to mark its 50th anniversary.

The event, held on May 10 at the Grand Ballroom of the Ramada Plaza Chungjang Hotel under the slogan "50 Years Together, On Air CUEB," was attended by more than 100 people, including Vice President Jeon Jeyul, former and current members of the station and their families, as well as local dignitaries. The ceremony included a commemorative video screening, congratulatory and commemorative speeches, a keynote presentation on the significance and importance of university media, and an open discussion session.

Since first broadcasting on May 19, 1975 under the call sign CUEB (Chosun University Educational Broadcasting), the Chosun University Educational Broadcasting Station has played a pivotal role in fostering public discourse on campus, promoting the development of university media, cultivating a sound academic atmosphere, and nurturing the sentiment of university members, all under the university's motto: "Pioneers of Freedom, Source of Justice, Fountain of Truth."

The Educational Broadcasting Station, comprised of the Announcer, Production, and Technical Departments, currently has 22 members who produce and broadcast audio and video content. Since launching "Chorus of Seoseokgol" in 1978 and up to the present "Dulset Gayoje," the station has organized a variety of programs over the years.

Additionally, the station has achieved significant results at both the regional and national levels through various external activities, including winning the Grand Prize at the 1981 MBC National University Broadcasting Contest, receiving the Planning Award and Acting Award at the 1992 KBS University Broadcasting Contest, and participating in the Gwangju Citizens Media Center Radio Production Group since 2010.

Since 2017, the station has actively contributed to communication with both internal and external members of the university and to community service by hosting the "Open Studio" during the university's Rose Week.

In particular, the station has expanded its communication with students not only through traditional radio broadcasts but also by utilizing new media platforms such as YouTube and social media, which enable real-time interaction.

Vice President Jeon Jeyul stated, "Based on the history and tradition of the past 50 years, we will continue to provide unwavering support so that university media can faithfully fulfill its role in conveying the true voice of youth."
