This investment promotion activity is being carried out in cooperation with KOTRA and focuses on Frankfurt, Germany, the center of Europe's coffee industry, and Copenhagen, Denmark, a global logistics hub. The Authority is conducting tailored investment consultations and local briefings with European companies, based on industry-specific strategies.
The main target companies include coffee bean roasting businesses, premium beverage brands, and food and beverage packaging and distribution companies in Frankfurt, Germany, as well as global third-party logistics (3PL) and smart logistics solution providers in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Authority is actively promoting the locational competitiveness and investment infrastructure of Busan New Port, which is at the heart of the BJFEZ, to these companies.
The southern container hinterland of Busan New Port is a logistics site directly connected to Busan Port, one of Asia's largest trading ports, and boasts an optimal location for high value-added logistics facilities and smart logistics centers.
In particular, the Authority is proposing an end-to-end investment attraction package that supports companies all the way from initial consultation to actual establishment in the region, offering tailored support policies such as designation as a foreign investment zone, tax incentives, and customized licensing assistance.
Park Sungho, Commissioner of the Authority, stated, "Frankfurt and Copenhagen are the heart of the coffee and logistics industries in Europe. This investment promotion activity is a golden opportunity to showcase the potential of Busan New Port as a practical supply chain hub connecting Asia." He added, "We will move beyond simple promotional activities and present concrete location models tailored to the needs of companies, so that these efforts lead to tangible investment outcomes."
Starting with this visit to Europe, the Authority plans to hold investment briefings and individual consultations for promising European companies in the second half of the year, leveraging its local network.
In addition, the Authority is planning to participate in international exhibitions related to coffee and logistics, as well as organize seminars in collaboration with the domestic industry. Through these efforts, the Authority aims to establish Busan New Port within the BJFEZ as a strategic hub for the reorganization of global supply chains and to attract investments that will have a significant impact on the regional economy.
