Kim Dongyeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, on May 13 urged authorities to do their utmost to minimize damage by mobilizing all available special vehicles in response to the fire accident at a logistics center in Bubal-eup, Icheon City.
Governor Kim Dongyeon, regarding the Icheon logistics center fire on this day, told Kim Jaebyeom, Chief of the Gyeonggi Province Fire and Disaster Headquarters, "Fortunately, there have been no casualties confirmed so far, but please continue to monitor the situation of the evacuated logistics center employees."
He added, "The fire is intense, so please prioritize the safety of firefighters during the suppression efforts," and continued, "Please make every effort to extinguish the fire by fully mobilizing all available special vehicles to minimize damage to the logistics center."
According to fire authorities, at around 10:29 p.m. on this day, a report was received of a fire breaking out in the first-floor machine room of a logistics center in Bubal-eup, Icheon City. After issuing a Level 1 response and beginning firefighting efforts, the fire authorities raised the response level to Level 2 within about ten minutes due to concerns about the fire spreading.
Currently, the fire authorities are deploying 32 pieces of equipment, including pump trucks, and 90 personnel to carry out firefighting operations.
