Entrance Road Expansion Project Greatly Improves Traffic Safety and Alleviates Vehicle Congestion
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sangkeun) and Busan Port Terminal (BPT, CEO Lee Junghaeng) have completed traffic environment improvement work at the entrance of Sinsundae Container Terminal to prevent traffic accidents.

Sinsundae Pier, which opened in 1991, handles a high volume of container truck traffic?about 5,000 vehicles per day. However, the entrance is narrow, and there is a high risk of traffic accidents because general vehicles exiting the parking lot merge and become entangled with container trucks entering and leaving the pier.
In response, BPA collaborated with the terminal operator BPT, sought advice from relevant organizations such as the police and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, and established a traffic environment improvement plan. As part of this plan, all unnecessary pillars on the exit side were removed, the road was significantly widened to nine lanes in both directions, and lane markings were repainted for better visibility.
These measures have resolved long-standing issues such as the risk of traffic accidents and vehicle bottlenecks. As a result, not only is worker safety expected to improve, but the operational efficiency of the container terminal is also anticipated to increase.
Song Sangkeun, President of BPA, emphasized, "We will continue to do our utmost to ensure that customers using Busan Port can do so safely by listening to on-site feedback and actively cooperating with relevant organizations."
