Yeongju Ilpum Rice Selected as One of Gyeongbuk's Six Outstanding Brand Rices... Excelling in Both Quality and Taste

Yeongju Ilpum Rice, the flagship rice brand of Yeongju City in North Gyeongsang Province, has been selected as one of the "2025 Gyeongbuk Six Outstanding Brand Rices," an award organized by North Gyeongsang Province.

On May 13, Yeongju City announced that Yeongju Ilpum Rice, the flagship brand of the Yeongju United Agricultural Cooperative (Anjeong Agricultural Cooperative) Rice Processing Complex, has been recognized as a representative brand rice of North Gyeongsang Province based on its superior quality and strong consumer response.

This evaluation targeted management entities in North Gyeongsang Province with single-brand rice sales exceeding 2 billion KRW. Experts comprehensively assessed factors such as appearance, quality, and varietal blend ratio to select the outstanding brands.

Yeongju Ilpum Rice is produced using the single variety "Ilpum." Anjeong Agricultural Cooperative hygienically manages the entire process through contract cultivation, from seed selection and transplanting to harvesting, storage, and processing. The rice grains are short and round, have a low amylose content, and are known for their excellent taste, stickiness, and gloss, resulting in high consumer satisfaction.

With this selection, Yeongju Ilpum Rice will serve as a representative rice brand of North Gyeongsang Province for the next year and will receive 20 million KRW in funding that can be used for packaging and marketing initiatives.

Han Sangsuk, Director of Yeongju Agricultural Technology Center, stated, "We will continue to focus on systematic management of rice processing facilities and quality improvement to foster high-quality brand rice," and added, "Through active marketing, we will promote the excellence of Yeongju Ilpum Rice nationwide."
