William Grant & Sons Korea announced on May 13 that it will operate an experiential pop-up store for its Scotch single malt whisky brand, The Balvenie, called 'The Balvenie Makers Table,' at Peaches Dowon in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, from May 27 to June 10.

The Balvenie Hosts 'The Balvenie Makers Table' Pop-Up in Seongsu for a Full Sensory Experience

This pop-up store has been planned to showcase the unique craftsmanship of The Balvenie that has continued for over 130 years, to introduce the flavors and aromas of various cask finish products, and to further promote the culture of whisky food pairing. The pop-up is designed not only for product tasting, but also to allow visitors to experience The Balvenie's brand philosophy and tasting journey through all five senses.

General visitors can freely explore the exhibition zone and photo zone, where a variety of The Balvenie products are displayed. During the exhibition tour, guests can enjoy a unique experience by creating their own 'personalized The Balvenie ice cream.' There is also an experience where visitors can take a 'Balvenie Preference Test' to receive a recommendation for the whisky that best suits them. At the 'Makers Table The Balvenie Bar,' guests can enjoy neat pours of The Balvenie 12, 14, 16, and 21 Year, as well as special cocktails and highballs made with The Balvenie, all available for purchase on-site. In addition, a calligraphy engraving service is offered for those who purchase a bottle of The Balvenie.

At The Balvenie Makers Table, visitors can also discover the 'Balvenie Pairing Set,' which has been developed in collaboration with local Korean cuisine artisans. When purchasing the Balvenie Pairing Set, guests receive four types of finger food along with one glass each of The Balvenie 12, 14, 16, and 21 Year. Dishes such as spring pea salad, traditional royal yakgwa, nurungji samgyetang porridge, and jang sanjeok are offered to further enhance the whisky's flavors and deliver a deeply immersive pairing experience.

The 'Balvenie Tasting Class' is a program personally led by Kim Mijeong, The Balvenie Brand Ambassador, which provides an in-depth introduction to food pairings that complement The Balvenie whiskies, along with the brand's story, offering a satisfying experience for everyone from whisky beginners to enthusiasts. Participants in the Balvenie Tasting Class will begin with a welcome cocktail, followed by a full tasting experience with the Balvenie Pairing Set. After the class, guests will receive a special Balvenie gift kit consisting of a table mat, wood plate, Glencairn glass, and dessert bowl, allowing them to continue their whisky pairing experience at home.

Reservations for 'The Balvenie Makers Table' are currently being accepted through the Catch Table application. While general admission and the Balvenie Pairing Set can be accessed by walk-in, the number of Balvenie Pairing Sets is limited, so advance reservations are recommended. The Balvenie Tasting Class requires advance reservation through the Catch Table app.
