During the meeting, the committee held an appointment ceremony for its members, received a report on the “Bukhansan Tourism Revitalization Mid- to Long-Term Development Plan,” and reviewed the “2025 Eunpyeong District Culture and Tourism Project Implementation Plan.” In particular, strategies and practical tasks for transforming Eunpyeong into a stay-type tourism city were discussed, based on the district’s unique resources such as Bukhansan, Hanok, and its historical and cultural assets.
Eunpyeong District plans to use the Tourism Promotion Committee to discover distinctive tourism resources and to foster a tourism ecosystem linked to local commercial areas. Going forward, the district will further develop its tourism policy implementation plans, focusing on creating Eunpyeong-style tourism content that both residents and visitors can enjoy, and expanding resident participation.
Kim Jaeyong, Deputy Mayor of Eunpyeong District, stated, “Eunpyeong District is an area with unique resources such as Bukhansan, Hanok, and historical and cultural heritage. The launch of the Tourism Promotion Committee marks an important first step toward becoming a sustainable tourism city,” adding, “We will do our utmost to realize Eunpyeong District’s tourism policies.”
