Lotte Mart and Lotte Super to Sell Chodang Sweet Corn for 1,990 Won, Securing 200,000 Ears

Additional Production Regions Discovered for Stable Supply

On May 13, Lotte Mart and Lotte Super announced that starting from May 15, they will be selling Chodang sweet corn, a popular early summer snack, at all stores for 1,990 won per ear.

Chodang sweet corn is a seasonal vegetable with a high sugar content that becomes available in May. Lotte Mart and Lotte Super explained that they signed advance contracts with Chodang sweet corn farms starting in February this year, and have prepared about 200,000 ears, which is approximately 30% more than the quantity prepared last year.

In addition, to ensure a stable supply, they have discovered and begun operating additional corn-producing regions this year. In the initial phase, they will sell Chodang sweet corn harvested from Miryang and Uiryeong in South Gyeongsang Province, which are the main production areas. In the later phase, they plan to introduce Chodang sweet corn sourced from newly discovered regions such as Haenam in South Jeolla Province, Goesan in North Chungcheong Province, Goseong in South Gyeongsang Province, and Jeju Island.
