New Faces to Promote Mungyeong,
the "City of Infinite Possibilities"
On May 13, the city of Mungyeong in North Gyeongsang Province announced that it has appointed local singers Lee Jaehee and Jang Hyejin, who are gaining attention as promising future trot stars, as Mungyeong promotional ambassadors.

The appointment ceremony was held before the closing ceremony of the 2025 Mungyeong Chasabal Festival. The event was attended by over 300 people, including Shin Hyunguk, mayor of Mungyeong, and Lee Jeonggeol, chairman of the Mungyeong City Council. After the presentation of the appointment plaques and a commemorative photo, the newly appointed ambassadors gave a pre-ceremony performance.
Lee Jaehee, who was appointed as an ambassador, is from Sanyang-myeon and majored in practical music at university. In 2024, she gained attention by appearing on "Singing Korea (Mungyeong Edition)." In the same year, she represented North Gyeongsang Province in "Singing Korea (National Edition)" and was recognized for her talent by winning the grand prize.
Jang Hyejin is currently a fourth-grade student at Jeomchon Elementary School. She recently appeared on "KBS National Singing Contest (Mungyeong Edition)" and drew attention as a trot prodigy. She received the excellence award and is emerging as a promising figure in the trot music scene.
Currently, both are actively participating in various local events in Mungyeong, giving congratulatory performances and engaging in vibrant community activities.
Mayor Shin Hyunguk stated, "I am delighted that such promising trot talents have emerged from our region. I hope they will promote the image of Mungyeong as a 'city of infinite possibilities' and carry out a variety of promotional activities in the future."
