Kyungbok University Offers Vocational Education for Active-Duty and Soon-to-Be Discharged Soldiers

Kyungbok University has been selected this year as an 'Educational Cooperation Institution for the Gyeonggi Province Defense Career Transition Support Vocational Education Project.'


Kyungbok University announced that it will provide vocational education for two months, from May 31 to July 31, targeting active-duty soldiers and those scheduled for discharge in the northern Gyeonggi region. The university will recruit trainees from May 12 to May 22.


Kyungbok University plans to offer practical job competency to transitioning military personnel through vocational education programs tailored to industry demand.

Kyungbok University already has experience and infrastructure in operating vocational education courses in various fields, including healthcare, information technology (IT), drones, and construction. For this cooperative project, the university plans to operate practice-oriented vocational training programs utilizing a specialized faculty and the latest educational facilities.


Kwon Seunghyuk, Dean of the Kyungbok University College of Continuing Education, stated, "It is very meaningful to be able to help enhance the expertise and practical skills of officers who are considering or preparing for a career transition as a cooperating institution for the Defense Career Transition Support Vocational Education Project." He added, "We will continue to fulfill our social responsibilities as a university by cooperating with the local community and public institutions."
