Discussions about building a "Sea Baseball Stadium" on the landmark site of Phase 1 of the Busan North Port redevelopment are once again gaining momentum within the local community. As the development of the Video Culture Complex has been stalled for an extended period, the baseball stadium is emerging as a new alternative, drawing attention in terms of Busan's identity as a maritime city and the potential for tourism and economic synergy.
Local civic groups such as the Choi Dongwon Memorial Association and the North Port Future Forum have expressed their support, stating, "The North Port baseball stadium represents an opportunity to drive balanced regional development and economic revitalization." The Sea Baseball Stadium is being discussed not only as a sports facility but also as a multi-purpose cultural complex that can be used as a performance venue, and it is expected to become a key landmark that will transform North Port into a hub for culture and sports.
Support from the private sector is also continuing. Jeong Chulwon, chairman of Hyupsung General Construction, announced a donation of 200 billion won for the construction of the stadium, further energizing the project. This public-private cooperation and growing public support are laying the foundation for the North Port area to become a global cultural and tourism complex district.
Amid such high expectations for development, "Blanc Summit 74," which is being built at the heart of North Port, is also attracting strong market interest. This mixed-use complex features Daewoo E&C’s high-end residential brand "Prugio Summit," and both the apartment and officetel units are recording high contract rates, with some remaining units still available for sale.
The officetel units are offered in mid-to-large sizes, ranging from 84 to 118 square meters of exclusive area, with an average sales price of about 26.5 million won per 3.3 square meters. A limited-time promotion is underway, offering contract payment support and special benefits worth up to 20 million won for buyers. In addition, high-end full options such as a bespoke refrigerator package, system air conditioning and fresh air ventilation, premium imported bathroom fixtures and faucets, and three types of built-in kitchen appliances are provided free of charge.
The officetel units maximize openness with a ceiling height of up to 2,600mm in every unit. Luxurious interiors are achieved by using wide-plank brushed engineered wood flooring and large European tiles, while the kitchen and bathroom are specially designed with Life-Up Kitchen and Life-Up Bath features. The units also offer various storage solutions such as dressing rooms, pantries, and entrance storage, with some units featuring built-in wardrobes in each bedroom and hotel-style dry washbasins, providing a practical yet sophisticated residential environment.
The location conditions are also excellent. The complex is within walking distance of Jwacheon Station and Beomil Station on Busan Metro Line 1, as well as Munhyeon Station on Line 2. From Jwacheon Station on Line 1, KTX Busan Station is only three stops away, taking about five minutes, and from Munhyeon Station on Line 2, International Finance Center Station is just one stop away. The complex is also close to Seomyeon, the commercial and financial center of Busan, offering abundant lifestyle infrastructure. Residents can conveniently access shopping facilities such as Connect Hyundai Busan (formerly Hyundai Department Store Busan), Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch, Busanjin Market, and Nammun Market.
The North Port area, where Blanc Summit 74 is located, is the central axis of the North Port redevelopment project, which includes port restructuring, railway relocation, and development connecting the old downtown. Major developments are scheduled, including an 88-story Marine Culture Complex Tower, a healthcare center with participation from Samsung Electronics and Qualcomm, and the relocation of the US Army's 55th Supply Depot, signaling a transformation into a global advanced complex district.
A Daewoo E&C sales representative stated, "With the recent issue of the Sea Baseball Stadium, expectations for development in the North Port area are rising, and we are seeing a noticeable increase in model house visitors and sales inquiries. Blanc Summit 74 is a differentiated residential product in terms of location, features, and future value, and it will become a landmark complex representing the region."
Meanwhile, Blanc Summit 74 apartments will be accepting applications for the remaining 30 units through a discretionary supply process on May 15, and the model house is located near Centum City Station in U-dong, Haeundae-gu, Busan.
