Superintendent Kim expressed his sincere thanks to each staff member, saying, "Thank you for always being there to protect the children." At the Daon Cafe of Suncheon Seonhye School, Superintendent Kim and Heo Donggyun, head of the Suncheon Office of Education, took on the role of baristas for the day, serving beverages to faculty members in a unique gesture.
The cafe also featured a small classical music concert, providing a brief moment of comfort and relaxation for faculty members who dedicate themselves to the busy field of education. Afterwards, Superintendent Kim attended the '44th Teachers' Day Commemoration Ceremony' held at Suncheon Dongsan Elementary School, where he presented certificates of commendation from the Minister of Education and the Superintendent, recognizing the hard work of the staff.
One teacher who received a commendation remarked, "Receiving the Superintendent's commendation brings new feelings," and added, "I will work even harder, thinking of the children's smiles." During the event, there was also a time for communication with faculty members to discuss ways to overcome the crisis of regional decline and to seek directions for the 'Great Transformation of Jeonnam Education' for a sustainable future.
Superintendent Kim emphasized, "What children need to live in an uncertain future is the great transformation of Jeonnam education," and added, "Teachers are at the center of leading community-based symbiotic education. I deeply appreciate your dedication."
Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Office of Education plans to present government awards to a total of eight outstanding teachers for Teachers' Day (one order of merit, three Presidential commendations, and four Prime Minister's commendations) through separate ceremonies at each institution and school.
