Experiential History Program for Elementary and Middle School Students
Visits to Baeksan Memorial Hall and Park Chajeong's Birthplace
The Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (Director Namil Lee) will operate an experiential history education program titled "80th Anniversary of Liberation: Korean Independence Expedition - Journey Toward the Light" to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation, utilizing sites of historical significance for veterans.
This program, conducted in collaboration with the social enterprise Chorokbaenang, will take place twice, on May 31 and June 14. It is targeted at students in grades 4 to 6 of elementary school and middle school students. Participants will visit major local sites of historical significance for veterans, such as the Baeksan Memorial Hall and the birthplace of independence activist Park Cha-jeong, and will have time to honor the spirit of independence activists.
In particular, the program adopts a "field-centered education" approach, allowing participating youth not only to observe but also to directly see, hear, and experience history. It is expected to naturally enhance their sense of patriotism and historical awareness.
Applications can be submitted starting from May 12 by filling out a Google Form via the QR code included on the poster. More detailed information is available on the official Chorokbaenang website and Instagram.
An official from the Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs stated, "It is important for young people to have opportunities to directly feel and inherit the value of the independence movement in our history," adding, "We will continue to promote patriotism and veterans awareness through a variety of experiential programs in the future."
