Wando Elementary School in Jeonnam is holding a busking performance involving all students from May 12 to 16 to celebrate the 'Cultural Arts Sensory Education Week.'
This event was designed to encourage students to voluntarily participate in artistic activities, foster creativity and sensitivity, and cultivate the basic qualities required of democratic citizens. The busking performances took place for about 30 minutes every day after the second period, featuring a variety of genres including music, dance, physical education, and magic.

This performance was especially meaningful because it was not a formal class-based stage, but rather a platform that respected the autonomy and creativity of each individual student. Around 60 students participated voluntarily, either individually or in teams, freely expressing their diverse talents and personalities.
Through preparing for and enjoying the performances, students naturally learned not only responsibility, but also the values of consideration and communication. The event is highly regarded for its educational effect in fostering self-expression as well as a sense of community through artistic activities.
Principal Lee Cheolho said, "Not only the students who participated in the performances but also all those who watched were able to enjoy and experience the meaning of emotional communication together," adding, "We will continue to provide various stages so that students can develop both autonomy and a sense of community through the arts."
