Binggrae Chairman Kim Hoyan and Spouse Join Red Cross Honors Club

Awarded the "Red Cross Member Merit Medal of Honor"

Kim Hoyan, Chairman of Binggrae, and his spouse, Kim Mi, Director of the Baekbeom Kim Koo Memorial Hall, have joined the "Red Cross Honors Club," a high-value donor group of the Korean Red Cross.

Binggrae announced on the 12th that at an induction ceremony held at the Seoul office of the Korean Red Cross, Chairman Kim and his wife were registered as the 284th and 285th members of the Honors Club. In December of last year, they each donated 100 million won, totaling 200 million won, to support families in crisis who fall through the social safety net. According to the Red Cross, this marks the 21st time a married couple has joined the Honors Club together. The Honors Club is a group of major donors who have contributed at least 100 million won to the Korean Red Cross.

At the event, Kim Cheolsu, President of the Korean Red Cross, presented the couple with an Honors Club membership plaque and the "Red Cross Member Merit Medal of Honor." This award is given to individuals who have contributed to the spread of humanitarian values and the creation of resources.

Separately, Binggrae donated 300 million won to the Red Cross to support humanitarian activities. This donation will be used to assist disaster-vulnerable groups and to support activities of the Red Cross Youth (RCY), among other initiatives.

Since launching the Hope Windmill campaign with the Red Cross in 2013, Binggrae has continued various donation activities. As of last year, its cumulative donations exceeded 1 billion won, qualifying the company for membership in the "Red Cross Honors Company 1 Billion Club."

In March of this year, Binggrae provided emergency support with beverage products and lunch boxes to residents and firefighters affected by wildfires in the Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan regions. In addition, the company’s flagship social contribution program, the "Binggrae Children's Drawing Festival," celebrated its 37th year last year and was held at the Independence Hall of Korea with the theme of "Independence." The event was designed to help children experience and learn the meaning of the independence movement firsthand.

The Binggrae Public Interest Foundation, established in 2011, has signed agreements with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and the National Police Agency to provide scholarships to descendants of independence activists and national merit recipients since 2018. This year, Binggrae held the regionally inclusive charity cycling event "Binggrae Gran Fondo" in the Gongju area of Chungnam, donating all participation fees to the local community in the names of the participants.
