Police Investigating Yoon's Secret Camp Allegations... Summoning of Jun Kwanghoon and Jun Hangil 'Not Yet'

On May 12, the police stated that they are "conducting the necessary investigation" regarding allegations that former President Yoon Seokyeol operated a secret campaign camp during his presidential candidacy.

At a regular press briefing that day, a police official said, "On April 20, we conducted investigations of the suspect and witnesses."


Regarding the charge of obstruction of special official duties against former President Yoon, the police explained, "The Presidential Security Service has not yet completed the voluntary submission of materials, and analysis is required. Additional investigations will be conducted after that is done."


Concerning the case of a complaint filed over the nomination of Han Ducksoo, former Prime Minister, as a Constitutional Court justice, the police stated, "The Anti-Corruption and Public Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency is proceeding with the necessary procedures, including questioning the complainant."


Regarding the investigation into charges of inciting insurrection against Pastor Jun Kwanghoon of Sarang Jeil Church and Korean history lecturer Jun Hangil, the police said, "In Pastor Jun's case, 11 reports have been filed and 15 people have been questioned, while in Lecturer Jun's case, the complainant's questioning has been completed." They added, "The schedule for summoning has not yet been determined."
