Point Mobile is continuing its streak of industrial enterprise tablet PC orders this year.
On May 12, Point Mobile announced that it would supply 1,200 units of its enterprise tablet PC, the 'TR54', for the 'Jeju-Style Payment System Advancement Project.'
The Jeju-Style Payment System Advancement Project, led by Jeju Province, is the first in Korea to simultaneously implement both direct bus fare payment using contactless credit cards and the advancement of QR code-based instant payment (QR Pay). The project is being carried out in collaboration with global payment companies such as Alipay and WeChat Pay. Its goal is to establish a payment infrastructure for both domestic and international tourists.
Point Mobile plans to deliver the 1,200 TR54 units to KSNET and RM Tech, consortium partners in this project, through major domestic ICT distributors. The company also plans to expand the payment infrastructure to tourist facilities and small businesses in the future. Starting with this supply, Point Mobile expects similar-scale orders to continue to increase.
The enterprise tablet PC 'TR54' being supplied for this project is a high-performance product, featuring an 11-inch FHD display, a barcode scanner with a 45° angle, the Android 15 operating system, IP65 dust and water resistance, and durability that can withstand drops from 1.2 to 1.5 meters. With these features, the TR54 demonstrates excellent performance not only in public transportation but also in outdoor payment environments. Leveraging these product characteristics, Point Mobile plans to expand into various fields, including warehouse inventory management using the barcode scanner, installation on forklifts, delivery management, public administration, healthcare, mini POS, restaurant order management, and police vehicle installations.
RM Tech, one of the participating companies in the Jeju-Style Payment System Advancement Project, is actively working to supply payment systems using Point Mobile's TR54, starting with Jeju city buses and expanding to other regions. According to the company, there is a high possibility that the project will be expanded nationwide in the future.
A company representative stated, "Based on the industry-specific customization technology that Point Mobile has accumulated, we have entered the simple payment infrastructure market following our entry into the Japanese automotive diagnostics market," and added, "Since the TR54 meets the technical requirements of the Jeju-Style Payment System, we expect demand for expanding payment infrastructure to increase in the future."
