Expanding Urban Consumer Reach and Brand Value

Gangjin County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Kang Jinwon) will participate in a special exhibition themed "Seoul Department Store," which will be held at the Old Seoul Station (Culture Station Seoul 284) until May 18. Through this event, Gangjin will showcase its excellent agricultural and specialty products to consumers in the Seoul metropolitan area.

According to the county on May 12, this exhibition is hosted and organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Craft and Design Foundation. Fourteen popular products from the "Chorokmideum Gangjin" online shopping mall will be on display, including signature items such as Gangjin celadon, Gangjin rice, various grains, and the local bakery brand "Gangjin Chaekbang."

The county was invited to participate by the organizing institution, which had previously experienced the Chorokmideum Gangjin pop-up store in Seongsu-dong last year. Unlike most participants, which are businesses, only two counties, including Gangjin County, are taking part as local governments. With an expected daily attendance of 1,000 to a maximum of 1,500 visitors, Gangjin County plans to use this exhibition to expand its reach to metropolitan consumers and enhance the brand value of Gangjin's agricultural and specialty products.

Various follow-up marketing events are also planned after this exhibition. From May 22 to 25, a Chorokmideum Gangjin shopping mall pop-up store will be operated in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Through on-site offline sales, the county aims to provide more opportunities for consumer experiences and gauge real-time responses to Gangjin products. In addition, following Gangjin County's designation as a "Rice Oats Convergence Industry Special Zone," rice oat products will be sold via live commerce in collaboration with Namdojangteo on May 30.

From May 19 to 26, a "Chorokmideum Gangjin Shopping Mall New Member Registration Event" will also be held. New members who sign up during this period will receive discount coupons usable in the online mall, and the event is expected to create synergy with the pop-up store and related online promotions. For inquiries about selling products on the Chorokmideum Gangjin online shopping mall, contact the Platform Development Team of the Gangjin County Fourth Industrial Revolution Utilization Promotion Group.

A county official stated, "Starting with this Seoul exhibition, we will actively expand our touchpoints with urban consumers, broaden distribution channels for Gangjin's agricultural and specialty products, and enhance the competitiveness of the Chorokmideum brand."
