The Gwangju Employers Federation announced on the 11th that it held the 83rd Board of Directors Meeting and Green Meeting at the Diamond Hall of Happiness Country Club in Naju, Jeonnam.
During this board meeting, the results of the 82nd regular board meeting were reported, and the following agenda items were reviewed and approved as originally proposed: approval of the admission of 75 new member companies and amendments to the special account budget. With the approval of 75 new member companies on this day, the Gwangju Employers Federation surpassed 800 member companies just two years after Chairman Yang Jinseok took office.
In the subsequent meeting, participants agreed to actively propose recommendations to the government to address local economic issues and to identify region-specific pledges in preparation for the upcoming presidential election.
The attending board members engaged in in-depth discussions across various areas, identifying the following as key tasks for sustainable growth of the Gwangju regional economy and strengthening corporate competitiveness: fostering and expanding investment in future core industries such as AI and mobility; nurturing the Gwangju-Jeonnam energy ecosystem; developing local talent and improving residential conditions; and building infrastructure for the co-prosperity of Gwangju and Jeonnam.
Chairman Yang Jinseok emphasized, "Achieving 800 member companies is thanks to the active participation and support of all our members," and added, "We will do our utmost to ensure that policies designed to create new opportunities for growth are adopted as presidential election pledges and ultimately realized as government policies."
