Kang Deukgu and Jung Junho, lawmakers who lead the Democratic Party's Central Election Committee Rapid Response Team, held a press conference at the party's headquarters in Yeouido on this day. They stated, "Kim's problematic behavior is severe, including misogynistic remarks, mockery of the vulnerable, distortion of history, blatant discriminatory comments, and a pattern of abusive language and power harassment."
They said, "Kim used a sexual metaphor to describe the girl group Girls' Generation as 'tall and voluptuous' in a public lecture, and made a shocking misogynistic comment by saying, 'What is Chunhyangjeon? Isn't it about Byeon Sato trying to have sex with Chunhyang?'"
They continued, "Kim shamelessly made further outrageous remarks that call into question his qualifications as a citizen of the Republic of Korea, such as saying that during the Japanese colonial period, Koreans had Japanese nationality, or that Pastor Jun Kwanghoon of Sarang Jeil Church is someone who defends South Korea's liberal democracy.".
They emphasized, "If by any chance he becomes president, the common sense, values, and international standing of the Republic of Korea will be irreparably damaged," and added, "Only the wise judgment of the people can protect the dignity of our nation."
