Kim Jongin: "A Prime Minister Responsible for Impeachment Has No Justification"
Jeon Yeok: "Forcing Out Kim Moonsoo Was a Ssangkwon Party Power Coup"
Former Prime Minister Han Ducksoo's appearance in the presidential election scene was criticized by former People Power Party Emergency Committee Chairman Kim Jongin as "a work of forces supporting former President Yoon Sukyeol."
Senior conservative figures have continued to criticize the situation surrounding the replacement of the People Power Party's presidential candidate. Former People Power Party Emergency Committee Chairman Kim Jongin criticized the appearance of former Prime Minister Han Ducksoo in the presidential race, calling it "a work of forces supporting former President Yoon Sukyeol." Former Saenuri Party lawmaker Jeon Yeok strongly condemned the incident, labeling it a "party power coup."
On May 10, Jeon Yeok described the situation on her blog as a "dawn coup in which Han Ducksoo, who crept in like an old cat, became the candidate." She added, "Even though candidate Kim Moonsoo was chosen by party members and a public opinion poll at 3 a.m., he lost his candidacy in just one day."
She particularly criticized, "Han Ducksoo crept in quietly like an old cat. From the day after the candidate was selected, party officials started serving the 'candidate,' and Lee Junghyun, a former People Power Party leader, even lowered his own rank to serve him. How could politics become so corrupt?"

She also raised an issue with the fact that Han Ducksoo completed both his party membership and presidential candidate registration in just one hour. She insisted, "Everything was planned in advance, and an old man, following the instructions of the 'Ssangkwon' (Kwon Youngse and Kwon Seongdong), acted as a puppet out of greed for power." She further claimed, "The Ssangkwon never intended for Han Ducksoo to become president in the first place. Their real aim was party leadership after the presidential election."
She continued, "The conservative party has turned itself into private property and hammered a nail into the hearts of its members," expressing deep distrust toward the current leadership.
On May 9, former Chairman Kim Jongin appeared on YTN Radio's 'Shin Yul's News Jeommyeonseungbu' and said, "I don't understand why Han Ducksoo suddenly appeared out of nowhere," and pointed out, "A person who served as prime minister under a president impeached during 12·3 Martial Law has no justification for running in the presidential election."
He added, "If the forces supporting President Yoon Sukyeol had not planned in advance to make Han Ducksoo the candidate, this situation would not have happened," criticizing that the People Power Party still does not understand the significance of the impeachment.
However, this attempt to replace the candidate ultimately failed. In a party-wide vote held on the same day, the People Power Party rejected the proposal to replace candidate Kim Moonsoo with Han Ducksoo, thereby restoring Kim's status as the presidential candidate. This led to calls for the simultaneous resignation of the 'Ssangkwon,' who had spearheaded the candidate replacement.
