People Power Party presidential candidate Kim Moonsoo and preliminary candidate Han Ducksoo's camps have resumed last-minute working-level negotiations for unification.
According to political sources on May 10, delegations from both sides reportedly began their final negotiations at around 6:50 p.m. at the main building of the National Assembly.
It is known that Kim Jaewon, chief of staff for candidate Kim, and Son Youngtaek, former chief of staff to the prime minister, representing candidate Han, attended the meeting. In addition, Cho Junghoon, vice-chairman of strategic planning for the People Power Party, and Park Sumin, party spokesperson for the National Assembly, were also present.
Previously, the two camps held two rounds of working-level negotiations the previous day but failed to reach an agreement due to unresolved differences over issues such as the "reverse selection prevention clause" in the unification poll. Following this, the People Power Party has been proceeding with the process of replacing its presidential candidate from Kim to Han.
